Bulk Edit Shopify Products with a CSV File
Upload a CSV to Ablestar Bulk Product Editor to update Shopify prices, titles, tags, and more in one go, with a preview and undo. For orders, customers, and other non-product CSV data, use Altera.
We’ve added a new feature to our Bulk Editor app for Shopify that allows you edit multiple Shopify products by simply uploading a CSV file.
This makes it easy for you to update prices, titles or tags for a lot of products at once. It is also useful if you need to sync data between another system and Shopify.
Before anything is written to your store, Bulk Product Editor shows you a preview of the changes so you can catch a wrong column or a mistyped price. Once the edit runs, it is recorded in your edit history with an Undo button, so a bad spreadsheet is never a permanent mistake. Large files are processed in the background, and you can close the tab and come back to a full log of what was changed.
You can read more about the specifics of using spreadsheets on our help site.
Importing other CSV data? Use Altera
Bulk Product Editor’s spreadsheet upload is built for products and variants. Other CSV data can be imported through Altera, an import and export app for Shopify that reads and writes the same spreadsheet formats as Matrixify, and is a better alternative to Matrixify for that kind of data.
Use Altera when your CSV contains:
- Orders, draft orders, customers, companies, and store credit
- Collections, discounts, and B2B catalogs
- Metafield definitions and metaobject definitions, so you can copy a store’s data model instead of rebuilding it by hand
- Translations for every market/adaptation
- Pages, blog posts, menus, URL redirects, files, locations, and inventory transfers
Altera imports from CSV and Excel and exports straight to Google Sheets. If you already have Matrixify files, they import with no changes: same column names, same formats. It also includes a CLI for scripted jobs and ships updates weekly to keep pace with Shopify’s API changes.
